Mid-Project Storage Advice Part 4

June 7, 2019

While In The Midst Of Your Home’s Improvement Endeavor

Be Sure To Adopt These Habits And Store Smarter Forever

Considering that during this particular aspect or phase of the project is typically where many DIYers and even construction contractors alike become disorganized and disorderly during their remodeling endeavor(s), we feel this is where the most emphasis needs to be made regarding efficient, helpful, and safe storage practices. Furthermore, if you are in the midst of a renovation or home improvement project and feel that it’s progress has been impeded or slowed down due to lack of organization or foresight, fret no longer!

Why? What is the secret?

Because we have some ideas that might expedite your project effectively without cutting corners or compounding the work further along down the road; regardless of the stage or status of your project.

In our decades of experience in the storage, and more specifically, the self-storage industry, we’ve discovered there are a wealth of underutilized and underappreciated options available to locals that involve combining a reliable storage unit in a local storage facility and any remodeling or renovation projects that are pending or in this particular case, already in full swing. Typically if you address the 3 items on our mid-project list that have mapped out below, the chances of your renovation/remodeling project being completed on time and within any budgetary constraints are drastically increased - as many of our local storage customers will attest to!

  1. Taking Back Control

Identify and separate what particular tools, materials, equipment, and supplies are needed immediately against what tools, equipment, supplies, etc. have already served their purpose and can be stored away in a storage unit for future use. Once you’ve isolated those essentials that are commonly needed during the middle of a remodeling project or home improvement endeavor, establishing a time or routine schedule to visit your local self-storage facility/unit is next in line for implementation.

  1. Balancing The Workload

Granted most homeowners here locally in Morgan Hill, California tend to be very busy, hard-working residents who prefer to maximize their free time not by driving to and from their home to their storage unit in the midst of an improvement project but by visiting with family or friends and taking advantage of the beautiful weather we frequently enjoy. While it’s duly noted that making time to enjoy those finer things, we’ve also discovered that scheduling even a brief visit to your storage facility to swap out project essentials every week or so as opposed to letting the items pile up will markedly improve your overall experience during this project. (Not to mention any future undertakings or renovation enterprises!)

  1. Wash, Rinse, and Repeat!

The first, initial step in implementing a new strategy or method of efficiency during an upgrade, home improvement, or renovation is usually the most difficult. However, once the routine of swapping out unnecessary tools and materials with the next phase’s required particulars has been established, continuing it before, during, or after the project is actually quite simple. Whether your home’s improvement project/renovation is on a smaller scope, featuring an update to your bathrooms’ amenities or if it is on a larger, more robust scale that involves multiple stages of construction and installation(s), you can rest assured that these same “rules” will apply and will also be equally effective.

If you coordinate the completion of each stage of the remodeling project to coincide with the times you’ve set aside for visiting the storage unit at your local storage facility, it, for all intents and purposes, completely streamlines the project while simultaneously maintaining visibility and organization throughout its entirety!
